In January 2015, a simple visit to Goldmyer Hot Springs turned into quite the 24-hour adventure when I was trapped with two friends by one of the largest floods Snoqualmie Valley has seen since 2009. Mother Nature is mighty awesome.

The Thrapp Mountain fire lookout site may not be the most photogenic summit but lookout footings still remain and it's a worthy objective for peakbaggers and lookout enthusiasts.

Recently I was able to visit the Yakama Indian Reservation as part of a fire lookout work party. I met some incredible people and saw a gorgeous land that few are privileged to see.
I can't believe it's been a year since I joined family and friends in the Grand Canyon to complete the toughest and most memorable hike I've ever done: the Rim to the River and back in a day. I won't soon forget this experience in one of the most fantastic places in the world.
