Hi, I'm Chris, aka TrailChick!

Despite rheumatoid arthritis I've spent over 20 years exploring the Washington State backcountry and I believe our connection with nature—its land, water, sky, and wildlife—makes us whole. A huge fire lookout geek, I've visited every historic fire lookout in Washington, staff the Goat Peak lookout near my home in the Methow Valley, and help to research and preserve these historic structures. I'm currently living off-grid in a little Airstream while building a small solar-powered home. Join me as I share my love of the PNW and beyond, especially the beautiful Valley I'm lucky to call home!
